We know this is something we are called to and will spend our lives doing in some form or fashion. Several years ago, God planted a dream in our minds and on our hearts. A dream of a place where teens (as well as adults) could retreat to. A place to escape the daily pressures and confusion of life and have a chance to connect, or reconnect, with God. In the fall of '06, we began down the path of creating this place, Camp Aletheia and Retreat Center. The purpose of Camp Aletheia is to provide and inexpensive place where teens can experience the fun, the adventure and the impact in their lives that happens at camp. It is also a place where adults can serve, and experience much of the same in their own lives. It is a place of retreat and refuge. To be able to pause from the whirlwind in life and spend time alone and with others seeking to know God more. This however is just the tip of the iceberg. As we've stepped out in faith and begun the process of beginning Camp Aletheia, more and more ideas have come to mind of what could be done and accomplished through this place. To date, Camp Aletheia exists only on paper (and in our minds). We are in the fund developing stage at this point. A major contributor to this will be our online business, Witzi! Which we were presented the opportunity of shortly after making the decision to pursue Camp Aletheia. Our goal is to open Camp Aletheia the summer of 2010 as a debt free organization.
